A few months back, I swapped one of my domains, fused.org.uk, with Donald Kelly. I regretted it very quickly, Fused is a great domain and of course it had a lot of links which never made it to this blog, as he used it for his own.
Well today, I got it back. And now I can continue with my plan for it’s development; so keep your eyes open in the next 12 months for something awesome.
I’m going to try creating things to target UK traffic; because in past little experiments it’s worked out well – it’s easier to capture UK traffic because there is less competition and the traffic is still of a high volume and quality, and speaks English.
I’m also trying something else totally new – taking my time developing things. I have a few other things in development to launch before I head off to university, things for me to play with and work on while I’m there, I hope.
I won’t make the plan for fused.org.uk public, but with any luck it’ll be the first project (bar this one) that makes it out of “alpha” into a fully functional website.
I’m planning to move Fused onto iampearce.com in the next few hours, which hopefully will become it’s permenant home. I know I’ve moved once already recently, but I want to incorporate all my little projects onto iamPearce and operate a single web presence.
I also decided that I didn’t like using .org.uk as an extension. I’m waiting to confirm that I can get the domain out of Register.com, and then I’m going to get on and perform the move.
Hopefully, everything will continue to work as it did, but I can bring various little blogs I used to run onto subsections as archives, and make everything play ball.
Watch this space!
Today is Fused’s first birthday, it is exactly a year since I wrote my first post up here, and it’s been a pretty awesome year
I didn’t really get to my target of writing once every day (on average) because my posts have gone down after I banished my asides, but that’s not important. My new years resolution for fused is to write more
I’m not going to set any targets, because I’ll either fail miserably to reach them, or write crap to get there, which is even worse.
I guess today would be a reasonable day to bring my other plans into action – I have been thinking of moving this to iampearce.com, which is an altogether much better domain, and I think I might flip the switch on New Years day. I’m aware that I’ve moved things around a lot recently, but hopefully iampearce will keep me going into 2010.
I think all that remains is to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and let’s hope for a prosperous 2009, eh?
If you’re reading this, you may have noticed a change. You’re not on GPearce any more! I bought a new domain this morning, waited a while for it to resolve, and now gpearce.co.uk has become fused.org.uk . I like it because it’s more memorable, it’s shorter, and .. well I like it anyway.
GPearce will continue to work forever, it’ll just forward here. If anyone has any links to me, I’d appreciate them being changed to this URL, but it’s not really a big deal. I hope Fused will rank over GPearce sometime soon, it only took a friend of mine a few days to start ranking for his name again.
I made the change because I was bored of GPearce, I don’t actually like the name all that much. I’m not a massive fan of the .org.uk but it’s not the end of the world, Fused isn’t for profit, so it doesn’t matter at all. In terms of TLDs, I may have gone down a step, from .co.uk which apparently is pretty dire anyway, but the name is more memorable, and I’m proud of being British, so I don’t care. I’m actually going to setup Feedburner and all that for Fused, so please please please subscribe
Anyhow, I’m going to go back to making sure everything is working, and to changing the easter egg, because someone noticed it
