As of today, I’m starting something new on my blog, I’m going to post my photos. Not many, just the occasional few that I really love, taken by myself.
I’m no amazing photographer, heck, I have an awful camera, but I do love taking pictures, and I want to be able to put the ones I really like, or I’m really proud of, somewhere where others can see them.
I’m not sure how often I’m going to post, I might try once a week, maybe less, depends. I don’t take great photos much, so it could be once every blue moon. Who knows.
I considered doing photos like Matt Mullenweg does, but I don’t think I take enough pictures, and I like the idea of just being able to showcase a single picture, so I’m going to work out out like that. I plan to modify my theme to handle these additions, and see how it goes from there.
I think this is one of my favourite shots of the whole Morocco trip, this is the entire group together, with Toubkal in the background (on the right).
Guess which one is me?!
I decided to upload my Morocco photos onto Flickr, which I got a premium account for, mainly because Flickr is faster, and for $25, means I don’t have to store any images. Plus, I like the bar on the right showing my latest shots.
You can find the Morocco 2008 collection here, the timestamps on the photos are out by varying degrees, my camera was playing up, but they are in the correct order – the last photos, of planes, were taken when we were kicked off at Casablanca, and before we flew in Marrakech.
I now have a flickr account, which can be found over here. I’m still going to use GP for my photos, primarially, but I’ll upload some of my favourites onto flickr, it means I can use the recent photos that are on the right, which I like, and I can add it to my aggregate. On top of that, I think flickr is pretty cool.
I might make a recent photos like the left to use for GPearce, for the uploaded photos, but as of yet, I can’t be bothered, and don’t really need it.
UPDATE: I’ve decided that I might use Flickr for my photos, and make albums of them here – it saves me uploading them onto my hosting here, which can be temperamental. Plus, it’s only like $25 a year for a pro account.
I took these at sailing yesterday, because I was bored and broke the boat I was sailing. Their not very good, but I thought I’d post them anyway.
I went sea fishing yesterday, with someone that I’m designing a website for. Never fished before in my life, and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it’d be. Just as a note – sea fishing is off of a boat, it’s not just sitting on a shore doing nothing.. :p
Anyhow, I also took some photos, which I’m going to use to test out the gallery function of my blog. I’m also probably going to use some of them, scaled and trimmed slightly, on this website I’m making.
As you can see, I’m not the most amazing photographer ever. Infact, far from it. I’m trying to get at least relatively good at it so I can take some good shots in Morocco
Well, I wanted to have a photoblog for a fair while, and I finally found a nice template, and for the time being, i’m using gspx.co.uk for it, while I experiment further with the theme.
I’ve even bid on a new camera, so I’ll have something to take photos with (always good), and from then on I hope to post photos of all the ‘interesting’ stuff I do (yeah, like). But I’ll try anyway.
Anyway, the theme I found is from WordPress.com, and it changes colour in accordance with the pictures it is showing, which I think is pretty cool
I’ll soon find out,
